for T2000 Reusable Trocar Access System

- NeoSurg Technologies, Inc., a leading developer of minimally invasive access
products for laparoscopic surgery, is pleased to announce that it has been
granted a patent relating to its trocar technology. The patent, U.S. No.
6,238,407, titled "Safety Shielded Reusable Trocar" covers an embodiment of a
locking mechanism for the obturator shield on its trocar system, the T2000
Reusable Trocar System.
NeoSurg owns patents and has numerous pending patent applications for the
minimally invasive access market—showing a strong patent position and commitment
to developing clinically sophisticated and cost effective solutions. The
objective of the patents is to broaden the intellectual property protection
worldwide for the T2000 Technology.”
Currently, NeoSurg Technology is protected by over 13 patents and patent
applications worldwide.
About the T2000 System
The T2000 System consists of a Reusable Trocar constructed of titanium and hard
anodized aluminum for durability and reliability. The access tip is disposable
which provides the surgeon with a consistently sharp and controlled penetration. A
locking shielding mechanism is attached to the main trocar to guard the tip
during insertion.
