NeoSurg
Technologies, Inc. Receives CE Mark
for T2000 Reusable Trocar Access System
CE Mark Is A Major Milestone In Worldwide Commercialization Strategy
Houston, TX November 25,
2004 - NeoSurg Technologies, Inc., a leading developer of minimally
invasive access products for laparoscopic surgery, today announced that it has
received CE Mark in the European Union for its T2000 Reusable Trocar Access
System. This system combines the features of a disposable access system with the
cost savings of a reusable platform.
With this CE Mark, NeoSurg can now market the T2000 Reusable Access System in
the European Union, for all minimally invasive procedures.
According to Pete O’Heeron, President and Chief Executive Officer, “This CE Mark
is another step in our broad-based strategy of commercializing products which
target the combined benefits of disposable and reusable components for maximum
cost savings to the provider. We believe that this approval will provide
physicians in Europe with an alternative to the expensive disposable access
systems and a system that will prevent the need for ongoing management of their
core reusable systems.”
O’Heeron continued, “Our proprietary technology provides clinicians and
healthcare executives with a combined system that addresses the need to reduce
the cost of minimally invasive surgery.”
About the T2000 System
The T2000 System consists of a Reusable Trocar constructed of titanium and hard
anodized aluminum for durability and reliability. The access tip is disposable
which provides the surgeon with a consistently sharp and control penetration. A
locking shielding mechanism is attached to the main trocar to guard the tip
during insertion.
